How Much Can I Earn as a Live-In Carer?

Live-in carer rates vary depending on the placement, the client’s care needs, the location, the length of the placement and whether any night support is required. Before you accept a placement, Live In Care Ltd will confirm the daily rate, expected duties, break arrangements, night support requirements and any specific skills needed.

All of our placements are self-employed live-in care roles, which means the agreed daily rate is confirmed before the placement starts. Higher rates may apply for complex care, couples care, urgent placements, waking night support or placements requiring additional experience.

We aim to give carers clear information before they decide whether to accept a placement, so you know what is expected and what the rate will be before you start.

What Is a Live-In Carer?

A live-in carer is an experienced care professional who lives in a client’s home during a placement and provides one-to-one support with daily routines, personal care, companionship and reassurance. The role can be highly rewarding because it allows you to build trust, understand the client’s preferences and make a real difference to their day-to-day life.

Live-in care placements vary depending on the person’s needs. Some clients mainly need companionship, meal preparation and gentle support with routines, while others may require help with personal care, mobility, medication prompts, dementia support, couples care or night-time reassurance.

As a live-in carer with Live In Care Ltd, you will receive clear placement information before you accept a role, including the client’s needs, daily routine, break arrangements, night support requirements and any specific skills required.
