How Does Live In Care Work?
Why Choose Live In Care?
Live in Care is here to support you for as long as you need, whether it is two weeks, a month, just a respite break while family or a carer enjoys time away, or on a continuous basis.
The Live In Care Process Explained
It’s an easy process, with no initial costs involved and there are no obligations to proceed, we’re all about care and checking that Live in Care is the right company for you. The first step to accessing live-in care and support and checking to see if our service is right for you, is to give us a call on our freephone number and speak to one of our fully trained and experienced assessors. They’ll find out a little bit more about your circumstances and care needs to be able to give you invaluable information, explain how we work and arrange to come and meet you in person. There are no initial costs involved and we never expect you to decide on the day, our assessment is about finding out more about you or your loved one and assessing our ability to meet not only your individual care needs but your preferences too. If you would prefer a call from us instead, just fill out the contact form, and we will call you back.

What costs are involved?
Our costs are dependent on your individual care and support needs and preferences. No two people are alike and whilst we can give you an estimated figure based on the information you initially provide at the point of contact; we will confirm our fees following an assessment in person and having met you. Live in Care is an affordable and comparable alternative to residential care for those who want to stay in their own homes, where memories and familiarity surround you, but you need more support than daily pop-in visits.
What does the carer need?
Our carers’ needs are relatively simple, as we are living in your home to help you remain independent in those precious and familiar surroundings. We don’t need 5-star luxury and you’re not providing us with a hotel room, so let’s set out our realistic expectations:
- Own Bedroom with either a single or double bed
- 2 sets of bedding – the carer is responsible for changing the bed and cleaning the room.
- Access to a bathroom
- Storage for everyday clothing – some hanging space and a couple of empty drawers
- Food – our carer will cook nutritional meals of choice for you from fresh ingredients and they will eat with you.
- Breaks – providing support to someone 24hrs a day can be intense, so we request a 2-hour break, each day for our carers so they can get some fresh air. The timing of this is negotiable, but we often find after lunch is the best time.
- Wi-Fi – we use an electronic care planning system to record the care and support we provide. This is a requirement from our governing body the Care Quality Commission (often referred to as the CQC).
The following are beneficial and thoughtful but not a necessity:
- Parking – especially useful if you would like our carer to use their vehicle to take you out or run errands, but we do understand that not everyone’s home has parking available.
- Chair in the bedroom – somewhere comfortable to sit whilst allowing you quiet time alone if you prefer it.
- TV in the bedroom
