Pete Cullen

Managing Director & CQC Nominated person

After spending many years in various management roles in retail, I founded Live in Care with my wife Elaine in 2014 after seeing that many large care organisations having lost their personal touch due to their sheer size. This has driven us to provide a much-wanted care service and more importantly make a real difference to people’s lives as well as the Live in Care sector. We have since developed this personal care service to cover all aspects of care from short term respite and companion care through to full-time live-in care and Palliative care. This passion for quality care we want to maintain by Live In care being Family orientated and family led.

Registered Manager - Overall responsibility for the care service and regulatory compliance

I joined this amazing company as Registered Care Manager in July 2018. It was the shared ethos of care that attracted me to the role because it meets my intrinsic values and the fact that the company is privately owned, retaining its passion for quality care. I’m privileged to be a part of our wonderful and supportive office team. I have worked within the continuum of care and have experience in sheltered/supported living, domiciliary, residential and nursing care, so understand the changing needs of our clients. I have an extensive knowledge of ageing and various health conditions, my areas of expertise being rehabilitation, Dementia and end of life care, gaining trainer qualifications to enable me to share this knowledge with others. I have a BSc Hons Degree in Health & Social Care Management

Carer Engagement Team Lead - Engagement of new carers and ensuring our live in carers are compliant

I started my career in care in 2003 working as a carer, supporting a wide range of clients living with both complex care needs and Dementia. I have progressed over the years to managing a team of carers and then recruiting quality carers for roles within the care sector. I passionately believe in delivering high quality care in a safe and compassionate way. At Live in Care, I have joined an Innovative company with a fantastic, friendly team. My role within the support team is Engagement Team Lead and involves all aspects of a robust and compliant recruitment process ensuring all of our carers are supported through their registration process into their role as live in carers. Outside of work I love spending time with my husband, children, family, and friends we are all horse crazy and regularly compete at showing and dressage.
Niki Horwood

Carer Engagement Co Ordinator

I joined the Live in Care team after coming from working in a hospital environment, dealing with patient discharges.
Many times, I heard people crying and asking why they could not go to their own homes. This made me think, so why can’t they go home?
I became passionate about people being able to stay in their familiar, safe surroundings rather than going into a residential home, not knowing anyone, in unfamiliar surroundings, or even staying in a hospital for the rest of their days.
To be able to be looked after 24/7 by the same familiar, compassionate carer, and to have family, pets, and neighbours around them, must be the answer.
I feel honoured to be part of a caring, compassionate, hard-working team of colleagues and enjoy sourcing the very best possible, experienced, and skilled carers to support our clients. My role encompasses all regulatory compliance checks to ensure not only safe practice but the highest quality of support

Care Coordinator

I began my career in care in 2008, working in a dementia care home where I discovered my passion for supporting others. Over the years, I gained my NVQ Levels 2 and 3 in Health and Social Care and progressed through a variety of roles.

In 2025, I joined Live In Care as a Care Co-ordinator because I strongly believe people should be supported to remain safely and happily in their own homes. I enjoy working with clients, families, and carers to help provide high-quality, person-centred care and maintain familiar routines and home comforts.

Placement Planner

My passion for care started long before I began working in the care sector. My grandmother owned a care home when I was younger, so I have spent much of my life around elderly people and developed a genuine passion for supporting others. I started my career in care in 2021 and have worked in both residential and nursing settings. I began as a care assistant, progressed to a senior role and was later promoted to deputy manager. After several years in care, I decided to take on a new challenge and move into a placement planner role. This allows me to use my experience and knowledge to help ensure people receive the right care and support for their individual needs. I am excited to have joined such a wonderful team that shares the same goal of achieving the best outcomes for everyone.

I chose to work in Live in care because I wanted to be part of a team that makes a real difference in people’s lives. In my role, I will support the team with various administrative tasks, helping ensure everything runs efficiently so the focus can stay on providing excellent care. I really enjoy helping others and being organised, and I’m excited to grow in my role while learning more about the care sector.
