Are you looking for a regular live-in care placement where you have genuine privacy during your downtime and the opportunity to build a lasting relationship with a lovely couple?

We have a wonderful opportunity for an experienced Live-In Carer to support a warm and welcoming couple living in a beautiful detached home in the Taunton area.

This is an ideal placement for a friendly, proactive carer who enjoys companionship and conversation but also understands the importance of respecting a client’s independence and personal space.

💕 About the Couple

The lady has a visual impairment and osteoarthritis and requires some assistance with personal care and her day-to-day needs.

The gentleman experiences short-term memory difficulties and some weakness following a stroke, although he has made a very good recovery.

Both clients are mobile using walking aids.

They are a lovely, proud couple who have achieved a great deal during their lives and enjoy reminiscing, conversation, and sharing stories about their past.

🩺 The Role

You’ll provide support with:

Personal care
Medication
Meal preparation
Shopping
Light housekeeping
Companionship and conversation
Supporting mobility
Encouraging independence
Maintaining familiar daily routines

The couple would like a carer who genuinely enjoys spending time with them while recognising when they would prefer their own space.

🏡 Your Own Private Annexe

One of the real benefits of this placement is the carer’s accommodation.

You’ll have a private annexe attached to the main house, giving you comfortable personal space and privacy away from the main household.

The couple prefer to eat their meals independently, with the carer eating separately. This provides additional personal space while still allowing plenty of opportunity for companionship throughout the day.

Experienced in Live-In Care
A driver with their own car – essential due to the remote location
Confident supporting visual impairment and mobility needs
Kind, patient, and friendly
Proactive and able to anticipate care needs
Respectful of independence and established routines
A good conversationalist who enjoys companionship and reminiscing
Reliable and looking for a regular 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off rotation
