Most Common Live In Care Questions
How long will it take to arrange live in care?
This can vary depending on the urgency of care needed and the availability of suitable care professionals. We’ll need some time to conduct a thorough in-person care assessment, which can be scheduled at your convenience.
What happens if the live-in carer is unwell or has a family emergency?
Our support team is on hand 24 hours a day to assist our care professionals, clients and family members with any unforeseen circumstances or queries. We will always endeavour to find a suitable replacement carer in a short time frame and usually have care professionals on standby ready for such occurrences.
What happens if I don’t get on with my live in carer for any reason and I want to change?
What makes you different to other live in care providers?
We are a privately owned and run company which means we have not lost that personal touch. Our service is regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) the independent regulator for health and adult social care in England, so you can expect the high standards of care that are monitored.
We only provide live in care services and night care, these are our speciality areas, we have chosen not to diversify and dilute our expertise. We have a highly skilled and experienced support team each with specialised areas of care.
We believe in continuity of care and making this a reality with a small team of carers rather than a different carer being introduced continuously.
What happens when mobility or the care needs change?
Care is never motionless, and we will monitor any changes closely through our electronic care planning and communication with all concerned (you, your family members, and our carers). We also complete regular reviews in person by arranging a mutually convenient time to visit you at home and discuss any changes, which then allows us to take any necessary actions with your active involvement and consent and update your care plan. We work closely with other professionals to ensure you have any equipment you need to support independence and any medical assistance from district nurses, occupational therapists, doctors, etc.
Is my personal data safe?
We will provide you with a privacy notice prior to an assessment which sets out what information we collect, why, how we safely store it, who will have access and what it will be used for. We do not share personal data with third parties unless it is requested by you or by a medical professional/social worker involved in your care and then we will always seek your consent. We have a full UK GDPR policy and required procedures in place to protect all personal data and an allocated data controller.
Thank you so much, you have saved our lives!
When we chose Live in Care for Dad it was because the Care Manager made all the difference professionally from other companies we’d considered, she gave amazing guidance and advice not only around care but quality of life, social interaction and possible funding.
Live In Care has been brilliant. My mother had a fall and could no longer manage on her own. From the first assessment appointment, all the members of staff have been both super friendly and professional, they are always responsive, and their work is focused clearly on ensuring that Mum is happy. The carers have been extremely conscientious, and Mum now has a longer-term carer whom she feels thoroughly spoilt by. I still can’t quite believe that Mum is being taken care of so well. It has been a huge relief, and I am so glad and grateful that I found Live In Care.
Thank you, Live in Care, for enabling Mum to spend her last day at home, where she wanted to be. This has been a great comfort to us all and we couldn’t have asked for better care in the last few weeks.
Dad was quite tearful today when Corina left, she has been a wonderful carer and such lovely company for him. Dad said she felt more like family rather than a stranger within a few hours of meeting her. A real sweetheart
