Sunshine Care Home Care
Devon based Home Care business Sunshine Care is now in the process of A Company Voluntary Arrangement with the help of recovery specialists,
They are assisting the Directors of Sunshine Care Home Care with a restructure of its business and a proposed Company Voluntary Arrangement (CVA) to deal with its current financial position, due to an huge loss in turnover.
The company has contracts with Plymouth City Council and Bristol City Council, to provide hourly home care for up to 400 clients, the majority of which are in the Plymouth area, these contracts will now be discontinued.
Sunshine Care also operates The Retreat Residential Home in Plymstock and provides live-in care across the south of England, where a carer lives with the client in their own home
The company currently employs approximately 170 carers in its hourly home care section, and every effort is being made to arrange the transfer of these staff to other service providers who will be taking over the contracts with the councils in order to avoid job losses. In addition as part of the restructure, the company intends to make further redundancies at its administration centre.
The staff have been outraged that they have been asked to carry on working despite being told they won’t be paid at the end of the month – and say they have already two months of pay still outstanding.
