Live In Carer Of The Month – Maybel Pitt
Our carer of the month, this month is Maybel Pitt
My name is Maybel Pitt, and I am a full time live in carer for a lady in the South West. This lady is 81 years old and has a dog named Tanja. I love working here and have been made to feel a part of the family. After settling in and getting to know this lady, I have found that she loves to chat and loves to laugh. Sometimes we say how much our jaws ache from laughing. We go for walks and feed the animals here together.
I also found that this lady loves to teach things. So I am now learning how to speak French and Dutch and pottery. I find this helps to this ladies mind active and helps me to engage in activities she enjoys. I feel fortunate in this placement.
Another excellent example of why at live in care we feel it is essential to praise our carers for what they do. I am so proud that our service allows us to have the time to spend one on one with our service users to join in with their interests and daily activities.
